Study of the Distribution Characteristics of the Airflow Field in Tree Canopies Based on the CFD Model

Air-assisted sprayers are the mainstream orchard plant protection machinery in China. During usage of sprayers, pesticide droplets carried by strong air jets from enter into target canopy. Therefore, distribution airflow field canopy has significant influence on spatial movement and adhesion penetration inside To enhance working performance it is imperative to study their use tree canopies. Based computational fluid dynamics (CFD), k-? turbulence model, SIMPLE algorithm, a 3D simulated model around was established based porous this paper. The used simulate calculate an air-assisted sprayer under different operating parameters. results showed that optimal operation effect achieved when driving speed fan outlet were 1 m/s 20 m/s, respectively, while not less than 2 m/s. 36 points measured compared with through experiments. It average relative error between values 13.85%, overall goodness-of-fit 0.97656. accurately provided basis for optimizing parameters orchards.
